Tory is a product leader with 20 years of experience in the data world ranging from taxonomy development to observational and experimental data analysis to social network analysis to financial reporting to big data infra to insight generation and data visualization. As an enthusiastic member of the California Native Plant Society, she is excited to bring her experience to helping people adapt to environmental and climate change-driven threats and improve our collective care for the land. “Sustainability and conservation have been passions of mine from an early age, influenced by a combination of familial values, literature, and artwork depicting pre-industrial conditions in the US. My aptitudes and life pressures, however, took me through a tour of varied data/technology-related industries. So the opportunity to take those skills and apply them to climate problems at Vibrant Planet was a true carpe diem moment. And the fact that we are working on manifestations of mismanagement and climate change in my own back yard (one canyon over from the site of the 1991 Oakland Hills firestorm)? I could not be kept away, and I am grateful every day to be working on something I care so much about.”
