Walter McGinnis

Walter began writing software after returning from working in Antarctica and wanting to put his photos on the web. Originally from the US, he has been blowing around Wellington, New Zealand since 2005. Not long after arriving in Aotearoa he kicked off the development of Kete, an open source multi media focused wiki, with support of the National Library and Digital New Zealand to bring local cultural collections online. Walter loves the opportunities his work provides for learning more about the world around him. He’s enthusiastic about solving problems to allow people and the environment to adapt and thrive.
